Our fearless leader

Oringinally, Skunk Comics began as a boredom fix for Sam Bohon in the early months of 2001. 10 people answered to the call to arms for the 1st Skunk meeting in April 2001, After whitlling down all the applicants, Sam settled on a small group that included the noted anime artist Walker Plagge .

Then finally in September, the 1st Skunk Comics Ashcan was born.  No one will ever see it. Ever.  It was that bad. After coming out with the ashcan, Sam attended Eastfield College where he met Sally Ridout , a cartoonist and colorist. She too decided to work for Skunk. Soon to follow was Space Pirates # 1 and the 1st ITA preview, both were 16 page B&W, and by today's skunk standards, pathetic. For 6 months we proudly displayed our books despite low low sales, and then the unimaginable happened.  ITA: Code of the Dragon caught the eye of a certain screen writer, Rhonda Eudlay.

Soon ITA became the number one focus of Skunk Comics.  With the dedicated artwork of Walker Plagge, Sally Ridout & Carol McAlister (on inks), ITA was expanded into a full length ongoing series, picked up by Diamond Distribution, and began appealling to everyone who ever wanted to be a dragon slayer (their just so in, babe).  With the upcoming movie and animated series and sponsors from all levels,  ITA is also on its way to becoming a multi-media success.

The True Source of Power behind D7Peacemaker: Nightfall !!!
Then at a lone, cold, January day, Sam and his friend Chris Felder, met at a doomed meeting at Starbucks with the creative folk of Dementia 7 Studios. Soon talk started of creating a comic book with the lovely talent of Arik Renee Avila with some mental bashing by Tony Hobdy , and his deep blue eyes. Also included in the mix was our soon to be Buisness Advisor, Mr. Sharp Shooting Steve Fellows from Istram Inc. So rock on Skunk, 2 books baby!
Oh, and least we not forget, our lovely Press Team, the wonderful wonder full Kimyla Stegal and her fellow folk at Footwork Media (say that fast 3 times). We love her, shes the Camera Diva. SPIN DOCTOR SPIN !!!!- (everything we say is true...kinda =)

Advertising
What better way to reach the 12-34 year old male / female market than through ads in our comics. Not only do we distribute books into the comic shop market but also via newsstand around the US and Canada. Because comics are collected by our readers and not discarded after one month, the shelf-life of these ads are much longer than an ad in a magazine. Also, comic book readers love to read their books over and over again, granting you multiple exposure
