Volunteer Program

Year-round, Conference & Festival Volunteers

Volunteers are the backbone of The Austin Film Festival. Each year, their enthusiasm, commitment and hard work, enables the Festival to pursue its mission of celebrating the writer as the heart of the creative process of filmmaking.

Volunteers play an invaluable role during the Festival, as well as throughout the year at the Festival office in Austin. The benefits that volunteers receive from Austin Film Festival participation include:

a volunteer pass for admission to films, panels and evening parties on a space-available basis

the opportunity to meet and talk with people involved in the film industry

the opportunity to be a part of a fun and rewarding event

The Austin Film Festival is a 501C.3 non-profit organization. Potential volunteers must agree to the following:

volunteers are responsible for their own transportation to Austin

volunteers are responsible for their own lodging

volunteers must be available to attend pre-festival training

volunteers understand they are freely donating their time and skills to the AFF

Volunteers understand that they are not employees of the Austin Film Festival. They are not covered by any type of insurance including but not limited to: personal liability, health or life insurance, worker's compensation or unemployment compensation.

1) Print out the application form, complete it, and mail to:

2) Attach a resume (optional)

3) Festival volunteer positions in some departments may require telephone interviews. Year-round volunteer positions may require an interview.

Volunteer positions will be filled by people with the required qualifications on a first-come, first-served basis.
